Ballet Ensemble
The newly organized Petite Ballet Ensemble (PBE) has been designed to offer dancers an opportunity to perform classical and contemporary works of ballet in a variety of venues and to serve as an educational outreach organization. Marilyn Cloutier will serve as Director and Ballet Mistress for the Ensemble. The PBE will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm until 7pm beginning August 25th 2009 though June 3rd, 2010. Extra rehearsals for optional performing opportunities will be held as they arise. Ballet demonstrations or performances will be scheduled on an as needed basis at schools, civic events, community activities etc. In addition to these meetings, all members of PBE are required to enroll in one other dance class such as tap, jazz, or lyrical/contemporary. The cost of Petite Ballet Ensemble is a yearly membership fee of $100.00. This membership fee is due prior to the first class meeting on August 25th. In addition, members will be required to cover performance costume fees (primarily rental fees of $15-$25 per costume, with one end-of-the year purchase) and the cost of additional classes. Parents are asked to serve as volunteers for PBE and its productions. Volunteer positions include costumes, fundraising, refreshments, volunteer coordinator, etc. The first Petite Ballet Ensemble production will be Peter and the Wolf. A performance date will be announced in the fall.
Auditions for the Petite Ballet Ensemble will be held on Sunday, August 2nd at 3pm. The audition will consist of participating in a ballet class conducted by either a guest instructor or MW staff member. Please bring your pointe shoes if you're currently dancing en pointe.Makeup auditions may be offered if needed.
Any dancer interested in participating with the Petite Ballet Ensemble should complete an online registration form indicating your intent to audition by July 1, 2009. Advanced registration enables the auditions director to plan the audition format based upon the number and age of participants.

Triple Threats & Broadway Today
Triple Threats! (60 minutes/1 meeting per week) is available for students in grades 1-5 who are interested in developing outstanding musical theater performance skills. Along with polishing their entertainment skills, students will learn theater lingo, stage “know-how” and audition techniques. It is strongly encouraged that members of this troupe also enroll in a dance class, acting, or a voice class to further strengthen their skills. Students enrolled in Triple Threats will be expected to perform in the Christmas musical production, the end of the year showcase, and various community events. Members are required to purchase tan slip-on jazz boots and a performance costume.
Broadway Today! (60 minutes/1 meeting per week) is a performance-oriented class for boys and girls in grades 6-8 who are interested in developing outstanding musical theater performance skills. Along with polishing their entertainment skills, students will learn theater lingo, stage “know-how” and audition techniques. It is strongly encouraged that members of this troupe also enroll in a dance, acting, or a voice class to further strengthen their skills. Students enrolled in Broadway Today are expected to perform in the Christmas musical production, the end of the year showcase and various community events. There is a dance shoe requirement and a performance costume requirement for all members of this class.
Off Broadway Ensemble
Off Broadway Ensemble! (60 minutes/1 class meeting per week) This is an audition/invitation class for young men women in the 9th -12th grades. The Off Broadway Ensemble is for the student who is interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts and will focus on production skills and audition techniques. This ensemble will perform in the Christmas musical production and the end of the year showcase. There is a possibility of attending competitions and conventions. Students who are recommended to this class must demonstrate a commitment to the arts and possess advanced skills in either voice or dance with intermediate skills in acting. Enrollment in either Ballet or Broadway Dance Tap and Jazz is strongly suggested. There is a dance shoe requirement and a performance costume requirement for all members of this class.
Junior Musical Theater Company
Jr. Musical Theater Company (75 minutes/1 meeting per week) This performing company has been designed to provide talented young men and young ladies between the ages of 10-12 the opportunity to work together in a “team” environment as they challenge themselves in the three critical components of musical theater: Voice, dance and acting. The company members will study and perform all styles of musical theater on a more advanced and in-depth level. They will perform repertoire from current and classic Broadway shows, learn a bit of musical theater history and study the careers and styles of legendary Broadway directors and choreographers such as Michael Kidd, Jerome Robbins, Stephen Schwartz, and Bob Fosse. In addition to attending a weekly 1 ¼ hour Junior Musical Theater Company class members of Junior Musical Theater Company are required to enroll in a least two other classes such as tap/jazz, ballet, vocal techniques or Idol Time. Students are asked to pay a one-time instructional materials fee of $20.00 per student. This fee will go towards purchasing music, accompaniment CDs, props, etc. for the class. There is no monthly tuition fee for the Junior Musical Theater Company as long as students are enrolled in the additional two classes. If a member is not enrolled in two additional classes, the monthly fee for the Junior Musical Theater Company is $50.00. Members of the Junior Musical Theater Company will perform at local and regional events (Mater Fest, Ghost Town in the Sky, Miss Labor Day Pageant, etc.) and will be encouraged to attend master classes and conventions. The Junior Musical Theater Company will also be featured at the Christmas musical production and the end of the year showcase. Members are required to purchase a performance costume, his/her own footwear, tights and possibly a Junior Musical Theater Company team jacket.
